Abstract
Transport planners have not been sensitive to women's travel issues in the past. The author believes that there are great differences between travel needs of men and women and that they are not taken into account in transport planning. The differences in needs and preferences are only partially disclosed by surveys because observed travel patterns are affected by the transport services provided. The paper addresses four main issues: travel patterns, security aspects of transport, motorization and telecommuting. [Country: Poland]
