Transport policy - Disadvantage
Abstract
This paper looks at how ‘transport poverty’ in Northern Ireland negatively affects the lives of those on low income. In Great Britain, government statistics show that people living in poorer areas travel less and make fewer trips, less than two-thirds of the national average. Many disadvantaged people, therefore, are restricted in their ability to get about.
