Abstract

The 2005 White House Conference on Aging (WHCoA) and its Final Report are about the future. It is reflected in the theme of the 2005 WHCoA, “The Booming Dynamics of Aging: From Awareness to Action.” The theme looks at the changing face of aging in the 21st Century and the need for all Americans to take responsibility to act now to address the challenges of a new century. As policymakers review the data, strategies, and suggestions generated both during the Conference on Aging, they must consider the magnitude of difference between the future and the past.
