Abstract
The aim of the paper is to present a vision of an ideal accessible community described in terms of land use and transportation services The design trends and key concepts for land use and transportation planning will be discussed. The characteristics and needs of its inhabitants by target groups will be outlined. The stages towards building accessible communities will also be developed. The paper concludes by presenting the challenges in developing an ideal accessible community.
