Abstract

The URP has identified urban governance, transportation, rural and peri urban landscape management, urban liveability, housing, infrastructure, ecology, urban economy and health as research areas of strategic importance. Most URP research concerns South East Queensland (Brisbane plus the Sunshine and Gold Coasts) and they contribute to projects in New South Wales and Victoria. One of their programs is Griffith Research in Sustainable Transport (GRIST) which is concerned with: social dimensions of transportation (including health impacts); the influence of land-use on transport patterns and sustainable transport — especially public transport and non-motorised transport.
