Abstract
The aim of this project is to produce best practice case studies on the delivery of co-ordinated or integrated transport solutions, identify and analyse their success factors and quantify the benefits and costs that integrating transport provision brings, to inform the guidance on accessibility planning. Responsibility for policy, funding and provision of patient, social services, school, community and mainstream local public transport is currently divided between a number of government departments centrally, between different agencies locally and between public, private and voluntary sector bodies. This can cause difficulties in achieving a collaborative, co-ordinated approach to the delivery of local transport services that make the best use of existing resources. [Country: UK]
